Pale Lights 09:58
Pale lights from other islands slow flashing through blue dusk across the water seeing island shapes "Who is there?" I call. A small yelp on the wind and then more roaring.
2.
Ocean Roar 02:46
One voice heard low across the water through ocean roar. (One chance out between two worlds, walk with me) Lost in thought the mind wandering again drifting west over the hills (pulled out to sea) Sitting in the car after the music stopped abrupt we arrived in the dark lost and disoriented (Through a dark stretch of trees, the roar of the beach calling.) As the car cooled down the sound of waves rose and blanketed. Our minds grew into a vast night air. We made beds in the ditch. The loud breath of surf exhaling and constant. Sleeping on the wet ground. In a dream I swim. (I thought I heard some voice returning) Out past waves rolling broad deep sky.

Waves 04:56
Sleeping on the sand, mid winter, Neah Bay Woken up by a strange lull in the roaring Imagine a log in the waves further west, out to sea. Ocean roar dream returns.

The world was frozen I left the studio The whole town had been abandoned except for me. I walked home beholding. The lights in the park The moving trees The silent corners The world's new cloak A final breath of storm blows snowdrifts in the street then blows away over the water. On an island across from town Isolated Close and alone Looking across the water seeing people slowly living all their lives. This is the feeling from inside an island body (Looking out from inside a sea of thoughts, distant and quiet.) Tossed on the waves blown onto land Grasping meaning in churning mess A moment of clear air breathing, seeing the expanse. Totally at peace with the meaninglessness of living. Drifting in a changing world alone Reaching for a solid thing in vain The stone dissolves in the same wind I swim through. Where I live there is a constant roaring. Bottomless absence through a cloud hole The sky was moving I saw it drift Seeing breathing waves of water roll in the sky. The wind has increased.
