quasiotter live recordings usually irritate me, but i guess since this sounds so small it's got quite a different effect. usually not a fan of slow songs like this either, but they feel unusually rich, even with the limited recording quality Favorite track: Mouth of Sky (Odeon version).

Oak Sun I think if the whole concert had been captured, it would definitely would be the most beautiful concert ever listen too. To be a fly in that room, really. I can't stop listening to these two tracks. Hope someday this get's reenacted and played live again. That's Phil for everything, for your music, for existing, for everything <3! Taimir Gore Wind's Poem is already my favorite Mount Eerie project but I didn't expect these renditions to be as emotionally stirring as they turned out to be. I cried listening to the album version of Mouth of Sky the night my dog died and after discovering this a few weeks afterwards I was almost brought to tears AGAIN. Those strings.........soul-crushing. As well as Phil's calm vocal delivery. I'd kill to see this live. Favorite track: Mouth of Sky (Odeon version).

This is the only known documentation of this unusual show that happened Feb. 7th, 2011 at the Fireside Room of the Sorrento Hotel in Seattle as part of One Pot's "Night School" series. Mount Eerie and Nicholas Krgovich adapted songs for a performance with the Odeon Quartet, actual professional musicians who work with the Seattle Symphony and other legitimate situations (Gennady Filimonov and Artur Girsky violin(s), Heather Bentley viola and Rowenna Hammill cello). Phil Elverum played vibraphone. Nicholas Krgovich played keyboard. Both sang.

These two songs were recorded by an audience member with a phone and so they are not super high quality.
