Thatcher Stevens “Phil Elverum may be one of my favorite musicians of all time” is my goto when being asked about my favorite musical acts. The Microphones/Mount Eerie may be the most original sounding projects I’ve ever heard hands down. This album is a strong reason why, mostly because it feels like something that anyone could have created in their garage or house with a few friends and a tape machine bought off Ebay, but at the same time, it bleeds so much originality.
